Old Plato ...
„OLD PLATO …” Poznań, 1989-06-28
– As His Holiness certainly knows I have not studied Plato. Ageneral outline of his philosophy was presented to me around 1970, perhaps in 1971 when I was a fi rst year student of chemistry at the Poznań Technical University. – As His Holiness perhaps knows I have never graduated. – I know that the Master from Greece was to proclaim that man looks at ideas, as if they were shadows in a cave, when he turns his back to the sun, and so man only looks at ideas… – I f God then Being – reasoning, Absolute Reason, „scientifi c conventions”, „worldly life”, extraordinary achievements of Pan-Intellect. In the mind came into being ideas, scientifi c conventions, e.g. astronomy, paleontology, anthropology, geology, medicine, chemistry, philologies, religions, although the last ones should be perhaps placed at the beginning. – It is obvious that God has the ability to tranform ideas, scientifi c conventions into e.g. pictures, images, outlooks which undergo projection into the Ego. What happens is a peculiar substitution of substance for the Ego. In chemistry one fi nds the concept of substitution, i.e. the substitution of concrete atom groups for a larger whole to produce a new compound. Thus views, „pictures”, images are substituted with the Master’s will – power and abilities for the Ego. – Ideas undergo transformations / e.g. into pictures / and are projected onto the Ego. Concrete substance or images are substituted for awareness and reason, the images which came into existence by reasoning. – There is also another fundamental matter: Old Plato probably new that man exists in a sense objectively, independently. From that point of view man is not the subject but has been invented and by the Creator’s will-power has been placed in His Ego, i.e. he exists subjectively with respect to God and in Him. Likewise in the „case of man” there is a projection of ideas „about man” onto the Ego, placing him in the reason and awareness as in the case of numerous other substances. One substance does not equal another – one image is not identical with another, a picture is not equivalent with a simple idea. Spectre of awareness is extremely complicated in an individual man. Some substances are deeply ingrained, e.g. self – assurance, belief. Others are more transitory although possibly strong, e.g. induction of sexual states. It is different when man „knows” that he sees from the state when he knows that he hears and feels. The image of a picture appears clearly in awareness . As I have written, the Spectre of awareness and reason to which an individual man is ascribed turns out to be extremely complex and differentiated, e.g. as to the depth, belief, intensity, tension of what, as is comonly termed, is „recorded by senses”. The transformation of ideas into, e.g. images. And man is also imagined, being into the Ego. He is not a subject but exists subjectively for God and in God. Old Plato – Aristotle – Kant – Tęczar
I am presenting this to His Holiness with great pleasure. Humbly Yours –
